Sherman, Texas just approved a major expansion of more than 200 acres along Ida Road near the animal shelter — opening the door for significant future growth.
The property, which was previously owned by Austin College, has been sold to a developer who plans to build about 450 new homes along with roughly 50 acres dedicated to commercial and industrial use. City leaders say Sherman’s population is growing quickly, and projects like this will help meet housing demand, create jobs, and support the city’s long-term infrastructure needs.
